NHS Wakefield District has selected Two Birds One Stone, the youth division of Good Relations North, to handle the PR for its Smokefree Wakefield campaign

.

Beginning this month the eight month long campaign aims to create an environment that prevents young people from starting smoking by strengthening community norms. Two Birds One Stone has been appointed to increase community knowledge and help change behaviours and attitudes towards tobacco as well as raising awareness of services that can help smokers quit.

“We were extremely impressed with the creativity and fresh approach that the Two Birds One Stone team brought to this campaign,” commented Rashesh Mehta, public health commissioning manager for Tobacco Control. “They have experience in campaigns that change behaviour and we are confident that they can make Smokefree Wakefield a success.”

Youth marketing specialist at Two Birds One Stone, Adam Burns, believes the agency is the right fit for this campaign adding: “We have again shown that we can compete with some of the biggest agencies in the North and that clients see the value in a specific youth offering.

“Our team is made up of young professionals, recent graduates and students and for the right client our approach can be refreshing.”
