Groupon has decided to cut back on its online marketing spend, says Business Week, as it doesn’t believe it offers enough yield. This year the company apparently spent $345.1m in online advertising in the first six months alone.

The transcript of a speech delivered by former Apple CEO Steve Jobs, who died this week, to graduates at Stanford University in 2005 is printed in The Observer. In the speech he discusses dropping out of college after just six months and why.

Google looks set to enter the mobile phone market, with a number of new devices planned to roll out, including its flagship model, expected to be called Nexus Prime, says The Telegraph.

Its tailored online advertising continues to increase, and its value has soared to $10bn, so The Independent on Sunday discusses the success of Facebook as an advertising platform.

A website has been launched to expose companies that hire interns without paying them for their services. Graduate Fog allows graduates to share their experiences of taking up internships with companies such as Top Shop and recruitment company Reed, claims The Observer.

Winner of The Apprentice, Stella English, has been fired by Lord Alan Sugar, not even a year after landing the £100,000 jobs. The Sunday Mirror reveals that English was told that her contract would not be renewed by Lord Sugar, after she won the BBC programme last December.

Proving that their relationship really isn’t all about publicity, ‘celebrity’ couple Alex Reid and Chantelle Houghton got engaged on live TV. Reid propose to Houghton while appearing on Irish programme, The Saturday Night Show with Brendan O’Connor, reports The Mail on Sunday.

The Simpsons has been saved from the axe after its actors accepted a 30% pay cut, with the show being renewed for another two seasons.
