Twitter in talks to buy Tweetdeck for $50m
In an attempt to usurp the development of a potential rival, it has been reported that Twitter is in advanced talks to buy Tweetdeck.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the acquisition is being attempted as Twitter aims to make its services easier for new users to navigate while also help more accustomed users find more relevant content.
Last week it was reported that UberMedia was also in negotiations to buy Tweetdeck as it aimed to develop a competitor to the microblogging website, but now it seems Twitter is also looking to buy the service for around $50 million.
Yesterday it was revealed that Twitter is set to open an office in London to act as its European headquarters.
