BBC presenter and reporter Juliet Dunlop is to join the STV News team in Edinburgh to present a new programme for the commercial broadcasters.

Dunlop, who has spent 10 years as a presenter for BBC News, alongside some of its world news services, will return to her native city to front the dedicated Edinburgh and East of Scotland news programme.

Dunlop will be supported by sports presenter Caroline Henderson and weather presenter Sean Batty.

Gordon Macmillan, head of news for STV, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Juliet to the STV News team. STV is committed to delivering a more locally focused news service for Scotland and with such a strong presenting team now in place, I’m confident that our viewers in the east will benefit greatly from the new Edinburgh-based programme.”

Dunlop will begin at STV on 18 April.
