BBC to contact the Premier League over Manchester United media snub
The BBC will speak to the Premier League about Manchester United’s failure to speak to the media before-and-after the club’s defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.
It is understood that the BBC will not make an official complaint but will discuss the matter with the league.
Alex Ferguson has failed to speak to the organisation for seven years since it made allegations against Ferguson’s football agent son Jason.
Following his comments against match officials who oversaw the club’s defeat to Chelsea last week, Ferguson and the club failed to speak to any media for the game on Sunday, including radio stations and Sky Sports which could see the club face disciplinary action from the League.
A BBC spokeswoman said: "We are disappointed that they did not speak to us and we will be speaking to the Premier League."
The broadcaster has, however, said that this will not be an official complaint over the matter.
