Google launches Nexus S phone
Google is having a second stab at the mobile phone market with the launch of Nexus S in the UK later this month.
The iPhone-alike is built by Samsung and comes just 12 months after the release of Nexus One, built by HTC.
It employs the latest version of Google’s operating system, known as Gingerbread and employs short range wireless technology. This allows the phone to be used as a travel ticket, make payments and read interactive adverts.
These contain a small chip which is activated when the phone is held near, allowing relevant trailers and commercials to be viewed on the handset.
Other features include a 4-inch curved display and both front and rear mounted cameras.
The pocket touch screen forms part of the Galaxy S family of gadgets.
