The first ever TV advertising campaign for food retailer Booths has started to air in the run up to Christmas.

Created by Sheffield-based agency Uber, the advert will run on ITV (Granada/Border) and can also be viewed on the company’s new website.

It was directed by Nic Auerback at Studel Films and pictures a family at Christmas time, following them from the store to their home.

Alan Baker, account director at Uber, said, “Booths brief was to create an advert which communicated its point of difference within retail food and drink, incorporating quality, provenance and service. Therefore it was important for us to put this across in a charming way.”

Sarah Burns Booths marketing manager added: “It’s a huge first for Booths and instead of opting for celebrities we wanted the ads to star the people who are most important to us – our staff and customers.

“When Edwin Henry Booth started the family business in 1847 his aim was to offer the best quality products in attractive stores run by welcoming staff. Our values remain exactly the same today, and the advert reflects that fact.”
