The video is inspired by a palindrome. During the first half, the graphics move downward and the tone, color and VO is dispirited; then the story changes, the graphics travel upward and the colors switch from black to white, becoming more positive. Ultimately, reflecting a reversal in perception, from discouragement to empowerment and hope.

The third leading cause of death in the US, COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) is a progressive lung disease that over time makes it hard to breathe. Often, it’s a discouraging and disempowering condition, both for patients and physicians. There is no cure and it is chronic (you live with it every day), can cause disability and early death, and is often associated with smoking (which carries its own stigma).

However, COPD is treatable and especially with ongoing advances in medicine, there is real hope. The video aims to raise awareness and help encourage this shift toward hope in the category.
