In tribute to Norfolk’s man of the moment Alan Partridge YHA has updated its destination guide, Partridge-style.

Paired together ever since gaffe-prone Partridge suggested youth hostelling with Chris Eubank as a potential idea for a new TV series in 1997, the unlikely connection between the two sees YHA reworking its Norfolk destination guide so that it appears to have been written by the man himself.

Kirsty Looms, campaign marketing manager at YHA, commented: “There are many huge fans of Alan here at YHA, and we were honoured that youth hostelling was mentioned in the first episode of I'm Alan Partridge. So, when we found out about the film, we thought it would be great to do something a little something special to mark the occasion.

“We hope everyone enjoyed reading it as much as we did writing it, and if Alan is looking for somewhere to stay on his promotional tour in support of the film, we can say with some certainty that his local youth hostel will welcome him with open arms and a hearty a-ha!”

The bumbling description of the area’s merits include a range of East Anglian destinations featured in the character’s many series’ including Norwich city centre, the Norfolk Broads and a local owl sanctuary.
