Lady Gaga’s costume and set designer Gary Card has collaborated with Arjowiggins Creative Papers to launch Curious Matter, an avant-garde, patented paper made from potato starch.

The R&D team behind the product used the spherical particles of raw starch – a by-product of the food industry – to form the textured surface. The result is an up-cycled paper made from industrial waste but with a sophisticated look and feel.

A second creation from Card made from paper and light combines the other papers in the Curious Collection ranges to create ‘Metamorphosis’, an artistic metaphor for the collection which aims to reflect its inspirational qualities, ‘mix and match’ possibilities and intriguing textures, colours and effects.

Edelkoort Studio has worked with the brand to create the range's colour pallette, all of which are named after rare potato varieties.
