HBO Max has confirmed a March 8 launch date for rolling its service out to 15 further European territories, including the Netherlands, Poland and Portugal.

The latest phase of WarnerMedia’s plans for global streaming domination brings the number of countries in which the service is available to 61, with the rate of growth showing no sign of abating.

Combining a family-friendly mix of established and original TV content drawn from extensive HBO, DC, Cartoon Network and Max Originals libraries such as Peacemaker and Station Eleven, the service also promises to make the latest Warner Bros movies – such as The Matrix Resurrections, Dune, King Richard and The Suicide Squad – available within 45 days of their theatrical debut.

Johannes Larcher, head of HBO Max International, commented: “The global rollout of HBO Max continues at pace... We are delivering on our strategy to go direct-to-consumer around the world, which – coupled with our beloved content – will give us the scale needed to be one of the top global streaming platforms.”

HBO Max debuted in 27 European territories last October in an initial wave of expansion. Further launches in six nations including Greece and Turkey are planned for later in the year.
