Pepsi’s chief marketing officer Robertos Rios has confirmed his departure from the beverage brand where he oversaw well-known products such as Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Gatorade, Aquafina and LifeWater.

A Pepsi veteran, Rios previously served as chief marketing officer of food service and as senior vice-president of marketing for the companies full portfolio of fizzy drinks.

Rios has accepted a new role at the online grocery business Schwan’s Co where he will be tasked overseeing the digital transformation of the brand.

Dimitrios Smyrnios, chief executive officer at Schwan’s Co, said: “As the food industry continues to rapidly change, we are particularly excited about the role Roberto will play in accelerating our company’s digital transformation, building on the strength of our brands, catching trends and meeting evolving consumer preferences and customer needs.”

Rios' most recent work saw him lead Pepsi's global 'For the Love of it' campaign amid a shakekup of Pepsi's top team led by the elevation of Laxman Narasimhan to the post of global chief commercial officer.
