The Washington Post has bolstered its executive team after recruiting Quartz’s Joy Robins to serve as its chief revenue officer.

The role which will hand Robins oversight of all aspects of the news brand's advertising functions including WP BrandStudio’s custom content programs, RED’s ad tech proposition, event sponsorship, video, audio and programmatic.

Fred Ryan, publisher and chief executive of The Washington Post, said: “Joy will play a critical role in the continued expansion of all sales initiatives with a focus on driving top-line revenue, amplifying the messages of clients and creating premium experiences for our readers around the world.”

Robins will arrive at the Post on 11 March from online publisher Quartz, where she is credited with contributing to triple-digit growth while performing a similar role.

The Washington Post has thrived under the leadership of Jeff Bezos, building out its own adtech company offering over a dozen products.
