YouTube TV is now available in more than 80 markets
YouTube TV, the Google-owned video platform’s live television subscription service that rolled out earlier this year, is now available in more than 80 markets across the US.
On Monday, the service announced that its “cable-free live TV” has debuted in 34 new cities, including New Orleans, Buffalo and Des Moines.
YouTube launched its TV service earlier this year, pricing it $35 per month. Subscribers have access to over 40 channels, including major broadcast networks NBC, CBS, ABC and Fox as well as ESPN, the Disney Channel, E! and Fox News.
Perks of the service include unlimited storage for recordings and the fact that it allows for six users per account, but it also has some drawbacks: it hasn’t struck deals with Viacom, Scripps or Turner, meaning it doesn't include channels like MTV, Nickelodeon, HGTV, Food Network or CNN.
