Amazon is fully embracing the home working ethos for its latest recruitment drive by advertising for 5,000 customer service posts which can be filled without the need to step beyond your own front door.

Carrying many of the benefits of a regular full-time post (sans an actual office) employees can look forward to perks such as health insurance, sick pay, paid holidays and tuition.

The home working cohort will join a mammoth recruitment drive at the digital retailer, which intends to add 25,000 regular part time posts this year on top of a further 100,000 full-time posts over the coming 18 months.

Many looking for a dream commute are likely to be disappointed however as Amazon will restrict recruitment to 26 US states with part time workers likely to be limited to evening and weekend work – although the posts will earn you $10 per hour.

Whilst these posts won't make any employees rich it will boost Amazon chief Jeff Bezos's dream of pushing humanity back into space.
