Uber to stop use of "greyball" on local regulators

The use of 'greyball' software to stymie regulators checking on Uber surfaced after a New York Times report where current and past Uber employees confirmed the use of the software.

The ride-hailing start-up will be reviewing the usage of 'greyballing' to date, with the prohibition of use on local regulators from today. Sullivan warns that the prohibition might take some time to fully enforce.

The post did not acknowledge any wrong doing or improper behaviour on Uber’s part.

The embattled start-up continues to struggle with accusations of sexual harassment, as employees face the cut over past harassment. Uber chief Travis Kalanick is also looking for a deputy to head-off controversies, as the start-up continues to face scrutiny from regulators, investors and consumers alike.
