Walt Disney World shutters its first ever VR attraction DisneyQuest after nearly 2 decades
Walt Disney World is set to close its first ever VR attraction DisneyQuest, acknowledging the technology it utilises is beginning to appear dated to park visitors.
The five-story digital centre, laden with large screens and VR games, opened in 1998 and as a result is fitted with now using vastly outdated gear.
Sitting in the west side of the park, the centre will be relaunched as an NBA-themed experience instead.
The site which featured CyberSpace Mountain rollercoaster motion sim and Mighty Ducks Pinball Slam where players control actions with their feet ran with tickets as expensive as $40.
The move comes amid a wider refresh across the park to repurpose or close older or no-longer relevant attractions.
