Fitch founder and creative visionary Rodney Fitch dies
Rodney Fitch, founder of the design company Fitch, passed away this weekend The Drum has learned.
Fitch founded the design studio of the same name in 1972 and was appointed Commander of The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1990 for his ‘influence on the British Design Industry’.
He left Fitch, which is now owned by WPP, at the end of 2009 to take on roles in higher education and as an independent advisor, consultant and non-executive to a broad portfolio of clients.
During his career Fitch was active in the development of design education and the arts in the UK.
Outside of the UK he was inducted into the Legion of Honor and Hall of Fame of the Design Institute of America.
Fitch passed following the recurrence of his cancer at his family home in Wiltshire.
