Ford Motor Company has selected marketing communications company APS Group to facilitate a premium dealer showroom upgrade across its European locations.

The end-to-end contract sees APS Group dealing with communications, logistics handling and in-store implementation, with the aim to improve customer communication and sign posting within dealerships.

The work from APS supports a global communications strategy, taking into consideration the cultural diversity of geographical markets as well as the requirements of each individual location, with APS managing the procurement, logistics and implementation for materials such as free-standing walls and in-dealership furniture.

A partnership with Ford’s design agency sees APS rolling out four ‘zones’ in each showroom that will guide the customer through the decision-making process. These include a ‘Hello' area; a ‘Discover’ zone where customers can gather more information using iPads, colour and trim samples, brochures and digital display; a ‘Relax’ section where clients can unwind and feel at ease; and finally a ‘Thank You’ area outside of the showroom for the exchange of keys.

“We’re really pleased with the way this major project is progressing and the significant savings identified. APS’s end-to-end management approach has delivered some great flexibility for us and our dealers and customers have been really impressed with the service levels,” said Simon Appleby, manager retail experience, Ford of Europe.

Darren Jackson, director of retail solutions at APS Group, added: “Our global presence as an agency has given us an advantage in understanding how we approach different locations and we have worked with Ford to develop a solution that reflects this. The online portal means that showroom managers can order materials themselves, gaining guidance and tips based on their requirements along the way. We’re delighted to add such a prestigious name to our portfolio and look forward to continuing to work with Ford.”

In addition to the showroom upgrade APS has also developed a web portal that can be accessed by dealers to view and order in-store materials. The website has been designed to guide dealers through a series of questions including information about the size and language spoken in the store to tailor a suggested shopping basked removing ambiguity.

Following the production of prototypes for pilots in showrooms in France, Germany and the UK, APS has already completed showroom upgrades across a number of markets and will continue to roll-out in 19 languages across 21 countries throughout Europe, in multiple large locations.
