Intermarketing Agency appoints MadeByPi director Lewis as head of digital

Leeds-based Intermarketing Agency has appointed former MadeByPi client services director Karen Lewis as its new head of digital.

Lewis is a well known name within the northern digital scene and has played an instrumental part in the development of the MadeByPi business, part of the Principles Group, over the last six years and she joins Intermarketing after a prolonged search by the directors to identify the right person to support their continued growth in the years ahead.

Lewis will lead a team of eight digital specialists and will work to further strengthen the digital team in the coming months. The appointment comes just weeks after the agency appointed two new creative directors, Paul Philips and Rich Gell, and the agency is expected to make more announcements in the near future, which will further add to the digital capabilities of the agency.

Lewis will also take a seat on the management team, working closely with the other members to help shape the future of the agency, which was subject to am MBO around three years ago, which saw Steve Sowden and Jamie Allan become joint managing partners of the business. The agency has since relocated to new premises and been rebranded.

Speaking of the appointment Lewis said: “I'm delighted to be joining the team at Intermarketing as they are a dynamic, creative and talented team, and my role will be to bolster both their current digital capabilities and future plans. After almost six years in my previous role, I was looking for a new challenge and what has attracted me to the role at Intermarketing was the agencies' strong ambitions, team and clients - so I'm looking forward to leading the team digitally to deliver some stand-out work".

Managing partner Sowden added: “We are all over the moon at securing Karen as our new Head of Digital. We have ambitious plans and this role is pivotal to the agency’s future. We feel we have found the perfect person to continue the growth of digital within our business. I have known Karen for a couple of years and have always admired her approach, knowledge and drive and I’m looking forward to working with her to further establish Intermarketing Agency as the best integrated marketing agency in the country.”
