AKQA has made three senior management promotions, appointing Matthew Bain and Geoff Northcott and Giles McCormack as international managing directors.

Bain has run the Amsterdam office for the past six years and will now be responsible for teams across London, Amsterdam, Paris and Berlin offices.

Northcott and McCormack have also been at the agency for six years, during which time their responsibilities involved developing client relations through Asia and helped build the Portland office and the launch of the Tokyo office.

All three will report to AKQA CEO Ajaz Ahmed.

Ahmed said: “I have had the honour of working with all three for many years, not only have they shown exceptional leadership for clients, they also create an inspiring team culture within the business.”

The news comes as the agency bid farewell to its VP international Guy Wieynk, who had been at the agency for 15 years.
