Colin Lewis named director of marketing at bmi regional

Colin Lewis, former European marketing director at 118118, has joined bmi regional as director of marketing.

In his new role, Lewis will be responsible for all marketing strategy and activity for the carrier. He brings with him over 20 years of international experience having held senior marketing roles in Europe, Asia and Australia.

As well as working with 118118, Lewis was also head of marketing at CityJet and head of sales and marketing at Aer Arann (now Aer Lingus Regional), he also spend eight years with Thomas Cook in product, business development and marketing roles.

“Colin is an award winning marketer with extensive international experience and solid commercial acumen. His digital capability and his hands-on expertise in building great brands to bmi regional will be invaluable. We’re delighted to welcome him on board at bmi regional,” commented bmi regional CEO, Cathal O’Connell.

Of his appointment Lewis said: “It’s really a great privilege to be able to work with such a great brand and help reinvent the business now that the airline is an independent carrier…My priorities are to build the brand’s digital capability, refresh the product offering and launch the new routes successfully. We need to strengthen our position in the UK, at the same time as create a strong platform for the brand in key European markets such as Germany.”
