Canburg Ltd., owner of kitchen brands Smallbone of Devizes and Mark Wilkinson Furniture has appointed The Specialist Works to handle its media account, winning the account from the incumbent ZenithOptimedia.

The appointment is one of two wins for the independent media agency as Interflora has also selected The Specialist Works company The Broadcast House to its TV shopping account, launching on TV in the final quarter of 2013.

“We are delighted to have won the Interflora account, another high profile brand which has seen the growing opportunity in the fast-expanding TV shopping sector and wants to work with our unique proposition,” remarked The Broadcast House director, Pete Mills.

As a result of recent wins and expansion founder Jim Lewcock, has stepped up to the role of CEO of the international ground, with Martin Wolley promoted to the role of UK managing director focussing on planning, technology and new client services.

Of the Canburg account win, Lewcock described the appointment as “an exciting global project” adding: “Our strategy is to be less reliant on ‘sheep flock planning’ (huddling with all the competition). Instead scoop out and convert the high net worth individuals from the customer database and find broader media channels and new territories - a leading luxury brand leading the way.”

As well as the CEO and MD changes, Elliot Parkus – who will run the Canburg account – has been promoted to the role of group planning director, Parry Jones has become director of press and inserts and Vicki Smilie is now head of press and inserts.
