Merlin Entertainments Group theme park Thorpe Park has named global social media agency We Are Social as its social media agency of record.
We Are Social is now tasked with undertaking an audit of Thorpe Park’s social media channels and the wider social media landscape within the recreation and entertainment sector to devise a relevant social strategy for the brand.
“Social media is a key part of our broader integrated communications strategy and We Are Social has a reputation throughout the industry for delivering first class, creative work. We had no doubt they would be the best agency for the job,” said Jason Wills, marketing director from Thorpe Park.
The agency has also been briefed to develop a content strategy, image and tone of voice guidelines, and a crisis management plan for the theme park with a view to developing creative campaigns in the longer term.
Head of integrated communications at Thorpe Park, Zoe Cartell, added: “Having engaging, creative content is a vital part of our earned media strategy. Working with We Are Social, we’ll be delivering a content strategy that resonates with our target audience.”
Content created by We Are Social will also be used as part of a paid social media strategy to promote the right content at the right time to a relevant target audience.
