Trevor Cairns has joined LOVE in the newly created role of CEO.

Cairns joins the creative agency from Phones4u where he currently holds the role of director of marketing. During his career Cairns spent almost 13 years with Nike, most recently as chief marketing officer for Umbro where he worked with LOVE on various projects. He has also worked for Nike as general manager of the UK and Ireland football business and managed football marketing for the brand I the EMEA region.

Cairns will take up the new role from July and will be responsible for the strategic direction of LOVE’s three offices based in Manchester, London and a Shanghai.

Of the appointment Cairns commented: “This will be my first role in an agency and I’m looking forward to bringing a new perspective to the talented team I’ve already worked closely with as a client, as well as helping the business to develop and grow in the future.”

David Palmer, LOVE executive creative director and founder, added: “For the past four years the business has been on an upward trajectory and we're operating at a global level more often than not. We’re at the stage where we now need a CEO to take the business even further. Trevor implicitly gets what we do and we are thrilled that we’ve been able to attract someone of his stature.”

The Drum has contacted Phones4U to inquire the status on the search for Cairns successor but has yet to receive a response.
