The Hits Radio has announced a wide-reaching schedule refresh which sees the digital station bring in a raft of new presenters following a search for new presenting talent.

The Bauer-owned station is introducing four new presenters with background ranging from student and community radio and a Sony Award winner.

Luke Francis, winner of the Sony Rising Star Award 2012, takes the reins of a new look Sunday afternoon slot. Of his new show, Francis said: “Sunday afternoons are about putting off work until Monday and eating a quality lunch, I'm looking forward to being the soundtrack to that on The Hits Radio.”

University of Westminster student Will Manning also joins the station to host ‘Rated’ a Sunday evening new music show. Manning has previously presented on BBC Radio1Xtra and has toured with both The Saturdays and Pixie Lott, warming up the crowds before live sets.

Bournemouth University graduate Elliot Holman will take the helm of a new midweek early breakfast show from 5am to 7am Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday night slot between 10pm and midnight. Community radio presenter Warren Flanagan also comes on board from Vibe 107.6 in Watford to host early breakfast in Mondays and Fridays.

Key 103 presenter Darryl Morris is also moving to The Hits to host breakfast from 7am. Dave Kelly from Radio City in Liverpool will now host the afternoon slot between 1-3pm alongside his Radio City drivetime show. A new look Saturday show, Takeover UK’s Saturday Smash-Up, will be presented by James Everton.

Discussing the changes which come into effect immediately, programmes manager Paul Fernley, added: “We’re delighted to be able to continue to work with new talent in 2013. These exciting changes definitely mean that we’ve got some of the most exciting future radio talent on our line up. I can’t wait to hear Luke, Warren, Elliot and Will on-air in their new shows.”
