Scottish Rugby has unveiled its first TV campaign in a bid to promote the positive aspects of rugby for kids across the country.

Created by Newhaven, the 30-second film follows a young boy as he heads to his first morning of rugby training.

Directed by Joseph Briffa at The Gate, the ad is the first piece of work for Scottish Rugby by Newhaven after winning the account in the autumn.

Speaking of the ad, which is part of Scottish Rugby’s ongoing strategy to promote the sport, Scottish Rugby’s head of marketing and commercial partnerships, Toni Blackhurst, said: “We challenged Newhaven to create something that would really appeal to families and demonstrate the values of rugby that we are so proud of.

"Hopefully families across Scotland will get a taste of rugby at this yearʼs RBS 6 Nations, go onto play at their local club and who knows, one day maybe even Scotland.”

Chris Watson, creative director at Newhaven, added: “Itʼs been great working with Scottish Rugby to help them in their goal to get more kids involved in rugby. We hope that by inspiring kids and parents to get into the game we can build for the future and hopefully help Scottish teams achieve on the big stage in the years to come.”
