Reevoo uses social commerce to predict Christmas 2012 hottest gadgets

Following on from last week’s Cyber Monday cloud-based social commerce solutions provider Reevoo has analysed user-generated product reviews and conversations to predict this Christmas’s hottest gadgets.

Based on consumer data from more than 750,000,000 customer reviews and conversations across 90 countries worldwide, Reevoo’s list is based on recently launched products that have a product score of over nine out of 10.

Samsung products dominate the list with four out of the top ten products (Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, Samsung NX100 Compact Camera, Samsung Note II N7100, and Samsung S24B300HL LED Monitor). Apple products also feature with both the Apple iPad 4 and Apple iPad Mini taking up a spot on the list.

Google’s Nexus 7 tablet also features and does the HTC One XL. Also taking a place on the top 10 are the Philips 226V3LSB LED Monitor and the Mini Micro Bag – Union Jack Rucksack.

Reevoo CEO, Steve Hurn, commented: “As the dust settles on Mega Monday 2012, we are left with many surprising findings on this year’s retail landscape. The fact is that the social Web has changed how we interact with other people online. Accordingly, our figures show that Christmas shopping online is also becoming increasingly social.

“Shoppers’ use of consumer reviews to help them decide which products to buy for their nearest and dearest can help us get an early picture of the hottest selling items of the season. The role that reviews play in quantifying product quality and experience is increasingly becoming an important driver for online sales.”
