Nicola Mendelsohn is vice-president of Facebook EMEA. She is responsible for the Facebook and Instagram business operations and growth across the region, including opening its first office in Africa this year.
She joined Facebook in the position – the most senior role outside the US in the company – in May 2013, after five years as executive chairman of Karmarama.
Prior to this she held several prominent roles as board director at BBH, deputy chairman of Grey London and was the first female president of the IPA.
As well as her work at Facebook, Mendelsohn is co-chair of the Creative Industries Council, a joint forum between the creative industries and government, alongside business secretary Vince Cable and culture secretary Sajid Javid. Last year she launched its vision and strategy for the UK creative industries for 2020.
In July 2014 she became non-executive director at drinks brand Diageo, where she sits on the board to discuss matters in the digital marketing and communications arena.
