Jim Dowling is managing director at Havas Sports and Entertainment Cake, responsible for day-to-day leadership of the agency. He has over 20 years’ experience overseeing planning and strategy for many of the agency’s clients including EE, Sky, Coca-Cola and Virgin Atlantic.
His career began as account lead on Cake’s early flagship clients and then became the company’s first planning director in 2001. In 2005, a stint with Ogilvy PR in Asia-Pacific based in Hong Kong as the region’s planning director saw him develop global insight as well as digital expertise launching the network’s social media practice.
In 2008, he returned to Cake as head of planning, and then within the year, managing partner. Shortly after, he was appointed managing director of Cake. In May 2015, Cake merged with Havas Sports and Entertainment to form the first Entertainment Hub within the global Havas network. Jim now leads a 94-strong team across the combined agency.
