A psychedelic video of a human slinky has gone viral after five years of stagnation after being shared by an American radio show on Facebook, causing a worldwide social media sensation for the toy which dating back to 1940.

The human-sized, multi-coloured slinky man with four irrepressible limbs dances to techno music. It is the work of visionary Romanian performer Veniamin Oprea.

Oprea, connoisseur of “unusual specialty acts” has performed on the Late Show with David Letterman, America's Got Talent and Britain's Got Talent among others.

The video racked up hundreds of thousands of views in the space of hours after it was shared by American Spanish language presenter Eduardo Sotelo presenter of ‘El Show De Piolin’.

The video, liked on Facebook over 100,000 times - receiving over 662,000 shares, confounded viewers with its surreal imagery.

One Facebook commenter said: “This thing cracks me up and freaks me out at the same time.”

Similarly, another said: “I'm never going to look at a slinky the same.”

Eduardo Sotelo, who first shared the video was recently added to the Radio Hall Of Fame.
