In our ongoing commitment to providing you the most comprehensive insights into multicultural audiences, Claritas has released our latest U

S. Black Consumer Market Report. In this report, we provide unique data, analytics and actionable insights that will help you effectively engage the fast-growing Black population, now and into the near future.

Numbering over 40.8 million in 2020, Black Americans now represent 12.4% of the total U.S. population. The U.S. Black population accounts for the second largest multicultural segment – and has grown nearly 21% since 2000. Black consumers are part of a growing multicultural population in the United States. In fact, since 2000, population growth in multicultural groups such as the Hispanic (78%), Asian (88%) and Black (21%) communities has significantly outpaced population growth in the traditional non-Hispanic white community of just 1%. Any company marketing to U.S. consumers would be ill-advised to ignore them, especially knowing that their spending in specific categories can literally move entire markets.

This trend is expected to continue, with virtually all of the growth of U.S. consumers now and in the foreseeable future expected to emanate from groups other than the traditional non-Hispanic White population.

If you’re looking to better understand the Black consumer market, then this report is for you! Also, be sure to listen to our Fireside chat on the Black consumer market with LaToya Christian of GroupM.
