Popular dating app Tinder is taking on the chaos of modern dating this April Fools’ Day with a stunt that’s bound to make even the most seasoned of swipers chuckle.

The stunt tackles one of the most prevalent dating dilemmas today: ghosting, which is when someone you have been chatting with suddenly disappears into the digital ether without notice.

In a video posted to Tinder’s social channels today, a faux-executive passionately calls for applicants who are willing to dive headfirst into the murky depths of the dating world to uncover why people suddenly go MIA.

“At Tinder, we won’t rest until all texts from potential situationships have been answered,” said Claire Voyante, head of read receipts at Tinder, in a statement shared with The Drum. “That’s why we’ve created the role. We’re looking for a candidate who won’t stop until they find out why your date didn’t text back. Was work really that crazy, Kyle? Was it? Was it really That crazy?”

But here’s the twist: the position isn’t real — it’s all a prank aimed at reminding us that communication and closure are key in the world of dating.

The campaign is the work of the creative agency, Movers+Shakers.
