With spooky season in full swing, we’re showcasing the best campaigns that lean into the scary celebrations in creative ways.

Bacardi

Bacardi has released two spots for Halloween

As ever, brands have been unleashing their best spine-chilling ads to frighten and delight this Halloween.

From Ikea leaning into the fear of monsters lurking under beds to Burger King channeling the classic horror movie The Ring, this year’s campaign offerings have delivered some good old scary fun.

Here's our pick of the best executions.

Ikea

This campaign from ad agency Ogilvy taps into the age-old childhood fear that has haunted every generation – bedroom monsters. Whether the imaginary characters are hiding under the bed, inside the closet, or behind a curtain, it’s a fear that most people can relate to.

Burger King

Burger King has taken a dose of inspiration from Gore Verbinski's 2002 remake of Japanese horror The Ring. In the spot, viewers see a young woman being terrorized by an anonymous caller.

Beavertown Brewery

Beavertown Brewery is asking beer lovers to ‘Please Be Terrified Responsibly This Halloween’ with the release of its short film and graphic novel titled ‘Flightmare’. The campaign was hand-illustrated by the brand’s creative director Nick Dwyer, and animated by Black Dog Film’s Alice Bloomfield.

Reeses

Two skeletons are raring to go in this spooky spot from candy maker Reese's. Dubbed 'Reese's Season,' the deathly duo dance around the famed peanut butter cups to get into the spirit of things.

Jack in the Box

This ominous short released on Friday the 13th leaves consumers questioning whether Jack Box is offering a trick or a treat at his fast-food establishment.

Liquid Death

Jackass star Steve-O is putting his fate, quite literally, in the hands of strangers - in the form of a voodoo doll. A real witch doctor placed a small pouch of the TV personality’s hair inside various dolls so that whatever people do to the toy, Steve-O might feel it.

Butterfinger

Has someone tried to steal your Butterfinger this Halloween? Don’t fret, call the BFI’s (Butterfinger Investigators).

Gas Leaks

Advocacy group Gas Leaks used Halloween to show the horrors of methane gas. The spot resembles a trailer for a scary film but instead educates viewers on the dangers of the greenhouse gas on themselves and, more broadly, the environment.

Bacardi

Bacardi has released two short spots this Halloween inspired by classic horror movies.

Meta

Meta - 01

Marking the launch of Meta Quest 3, these ‘Halloween Thrillboards’ may appear normal at first sight, but passersby have the opportunity to enter the world of the games, stepping directly into specially crafted billboards. The campaign was developed by AMV BBDO and Unit9.

Burger King

Burger King and agency Buzzman have created an AI-generated campaign for Halloween that takes inspiration from some people's fear of the technology.

Morrisons

Morrisons

This Halloween, Morrisons is inviting everyone to treat themselves to a spooky night in with its new Nightmare on Market Street Cheese, complete with its ‘Ouija’ Cheeseboard.
