The rapper swipes right and left on viable suitors for her friends to highlight the dating app’s latest tool.

26-year-old chart-topping sensation Coi Leray is taking on a new role as a matchmaker in Tinder’s latest campaign.

In the ad, aptly titled ‘Matchmaker,’ the American rapper and singer leads a speed dating round for hopeful singles, during which she swipes right and left on possible suitors. The man who earns the only right swipe has a bed frame, a headboard and two chargers – the modern hallmarks of male maturity.

Coi Leray commented: “Handing your phone over to the friend group was the original vibe check. Obviously, you want your friends to like whoever you’re crushing on and Tinder Matchmaker is a fun way to get the bestie seal of approval even before the match.”

The commercial helps launch Tinder Matchmaker – a new tool that, according to the brand, integrates the ’friend test,’ which lets friends and family recommend profiles to another user. As of Monday, it has become available in the United States, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, the United Kingdom and Vietnam. It will be rolling out to Tinder users globally in the coming months.

“For years, singles have asked their friends to help find their next match on Tinder and now we’re making that so easy with Tinder Matchmaker,” added Melissa Hobley, chief marketing officer at Tinder. “Tinder Matchmaker brings your circle of trust into your dating journey and helps you see the possibilities you might be overlooking from the perspective of those closest to you.”

The campaign was created in partnership with Tinder's creative agency of record, Mischief @ No Fixed Address.

James Leake, associate creative director at Mischief, said: “For as long as people have been using Tinder, their friends have been taking their phone to find matches for them too. And now that Tinder has made it official with Matchmaker, we can finally save all the serial bad daters in our lives who clearly can’t pick good dates for themselves. It’s basically a public service.”
