The gin brand tapped the fashion visionary to create a haute couture gown and capsule collection inspired by the Bombay French 75 for New York Fashion Week.

A new campaign from Bombay Sapphire aims to elevate cocktail dresses like never before.

Bacardi’s gin brand tapped Christian Siriano, the American designer known for his eponymous fashion label and his appearances on the reality television show Project Runway, to design the first-ever couture gown inspired by the Bombay French 75 cocktail. The collection debuted at Siriano’s Spring/Summer 2024 New York Fashion Week show on Friday.

Siriano’s French 75-inspired gown mirrors the effervescence of the cocktail. Designed with whimsical touches that mimic the zesty lemon, bubbling champagne and vibrant gin notes, the stunning creation incorporates elements of Bombay Sapphire’s signature blue bottle and is crafted from fabrics dyed with custom Bombay Sapphire hues.

In tandem with the French 75-inspired gown, Siriano released a limited-edition capsule collection modeled after cocktail party culture, which becomes available in time for the holiday season.

This venture marks a continuation of the brand’s ongoing ‘Saw This, Made This’ campaign, developed with creative agency BBDO New York, which showcases boundary-pushing fashion collections. It debuted last year with an initiative by acclaimed film director Baz Luhrmann.

”As a designer, I find endless excitement in exploring disruptive ways to construct garments and challenge myself creatively,” said Siriano. ”Partnering with Bombay Sapphire for the ‘Saw This, Made This’ campaign has allowed me to design a collection that transforms classic cocktail culture into fashion. By continuing to explore my creative boundaries and find inspiration in the unexpected, in this case, the silhouette of a French 75 cocktail, I hope to inspire others to discover uncharted territories of their imagination.”

Jaime Keller, brand director of Bombay Sapphire, added: “As a brand that has always championed all forms of artistic expression, we’ve loved working with Christian to unlock a new form of creative inspiration for his designs. ’Saw This, Made This’ has always been about finding new and unique points of inspiration and Christian has shown that imagination shows no limits and that visual prompts can turn into tangible, beautiful creations. With the release of this partnership, we hope that audiences will tap into their own creativity and uncover the inspiration that permeates the world around them.”
