Viral impersonator Mary Kelly discusses her ‘Dragon Jerky’ business in droll VistaPrint ad
Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort says no dragons were harmed in the making of the commercial or its mythical munchies.
Maximum Effort, Ryan Reynolds’ prolific creative agency, has today released its latest work for VistaPrint, a Boston-based firm that produces marketing products for all kinds of small businesses, no matter how unconventional they may seem.
In the new ad, Gwen Griffiths, a fictional small business owner played by actress and comedian Mary Kelly, tells audiences about her family’s small business: Dragon Foods, a Wales-based company that has produced a beastly treat called Dragon Jerky for 11,000 years.

“People assume the hardest part of making Dragon Jerky is sourcing the product – don’t get me wrong; that can be harrowing – but it’s branding and marketing,” Kelly says in the ad. “That’s why we decided to partner with VistaPrint. They’re experts at those things.”
The ad follows Wrexham AFC’s promotion to the EFL, and VistaPrint becoming the team’s new back-of-shirt sponsor. Wrexham AFC has gained international notoriety since Reynolds and fellow American celebrity Rob McElhenney took over the club, and its marketing campaigns, in November of 2020.
