The alien will promote Mint Mobile, Ring and other brands during a ‘Caturday Marathon’ of his beloved 1980s sitcom this weekend.

It has been 33 years since Alf, a sitcom about a cat-eating ’Alien Life Form,’ was last broadcast on television.

Now, thanks to actor-producer-marketing mogul Ryan Reynolds, the popular 80s series is returning to TV screens nationwide starting Saturday, July 29, during the Alf ’Caturday Marathon’ on Maximum Effort Channel via streaming apps Fubo, Amazon, Freevee, LG Channels, Plex, Sling Freestream, VIDAA, Vizio, Watchfree+ and Xumo Play. The reruns were made possible via a partnership between Maximum Effort, Alf creator Paul Fusco and Shout Studios.

In anticipation of the rerun, Reynolds’s creative agency Maximum Effort has made a series of retro ads called ‘Maximum Moments’ starring Alf, promoting various brands including Reynolds’s Mint Mobile and Mntn, Fubo, Hims and Ring. The ads, which feature the voice of Fusco, effortlessly mimic the original show, from their suburban setting to their old-school laugh tracks.

The ads will run ahead of and during the marathon and on Maximum Effort Channel’s original podcast, The Pawdcast.

“At Maximum Effort, we love taking risks and blurring the lines between shows and sponsorship because we believe both can be equally entertaining,” said Reynolds. “Besides my irrational love of Alf growing up, one of the reasons we licensed this show was precisely because Paul, Shout Studios and our intrepid brand partners wanted to plot with us to bring Alf back to life. Tune in this Caturday!”
