US Ad of the Day: JR Smith, Ishod Wair & Sean Malto sip Belvedere’s ‘Miami martini’
A star-studded spot directed by renowned skateboard photographer Atiba Jefferson centers around Belvedere Vodka’s limited-edition Miami Bottle.
When it comes to capturing Miami’s fun and energetic essence in a brand campaign, Belvedere Vodka has it down: pink skies and perpetual partying.
The Polish rye vodka brand today released ‘Miami baby,’ a short film directed by skate photographer Atiba Jefferson and scored by Austrian EDM producer Acyde.

In the spot, skateboarders Ishod Wair and Sean Malto roll up to J.R. Smith’s pink, dreamlike world in a vintage black convertible. There, they discover a small bar, where the former New Orleans Hornets player serves them a cocktail he’s been working on – a “Miami Martini.” (Crafted with just Belvedered vodka and ice, the drink bears an uncanny resemblance to a classic vodka on the rocks.)
As the guests imbibe their Miami Martinis, they ask Smith what he has in mind for the evening. Suddenly, their somewhat dull surroundings transform into a lively Miami nightclub, replete with confetti, smoke, pumping beats and dancing. How? Smith simply says: “It’s Miami Baby.”

The campaign also highlights Belvedere Vodka’s new, limited-edition Miami Bottle. The bottle was first released late last month in time for Miami Music Week and the Ultra Music Festival. Inspired by the Florida beach city’s vibrant hues, it’s boasts bright shades of pink and green.
The spot debuts today across social media exclusively.
“The ‘Miami baby’ campaign from Belvedere celebrates the city’s iconic party energy and ‘good time’ vibes,” says Sophie Clerc, vodka brand director at Moet Hennessy USA. “The personal friendship between Director Atiba Jefferson and sporting stars JR Smith, Sean Malto and Ishod Wair radiates an amazing chemistry that brings this campaign to life. It was the perfect way to launch our limited-edition Belvedere Miami collection.”
