The trio of shorts remind travelers that you don’t need to pay over the odds for an amazing break.

Luxury travel brand Secret Escapes has released a dark-yet-hilarious ad campaign. The set of short films all features a couple enjoying their holiday, surrounded by fancy amenities. As they chat with each other, the luxury bubble bursts when they realize they haven’t secured the biggest discount.

In one scene, the protagonist explains that they “could have afforded to bring Toby after all” as the camera cuts to their lonely child, back at home alone and gloomily looking at a photo of his parents.

Dan Watts, executive creative director at Pablo, commented: “It’s been so much fun to work with Secret Escapes to create some much-needed January entertainment for a nation of sun lovers.”

The campaign has both English and German versions, launching in both markets from Christmas Day.
