Traditionally the confectionary brand dulls its famous rainbow colours down to a monotone grey in a striking display of shared values, but this year things are a little different with a ‘splash of color’ left in the designs to represent how people ‘see the rainbow.’

Developed in partnership with campaign group Glaad, the branded packs bring a modicum of color back during the month for the eye-catching packaging, part of an effort to draw attention to the rainbow pride flag.

Skittles has had a colorful year after launching an ‘apology tour’ for a 2013 decision to switch out its lime-flavored sweet for apple. That swap was reversed after over 130,000 Skittles fans shared their displeasure on social media.

Produced by Mars Wrigley, Skittles have been in production since 1979, with more than 200m Skittles produced each day around the globe.
