Mars-owned pet food brand Pedigree has developed AI technology that matches kids drawings with similar-looking rescue dogs.

’Rescue Doodles’ has been launched in collaboration with Adopt-a-Pet.com and allows kids to upload a drawing of a dog and find a similar one to adopt.
”Every dog deserves a loving home and Rescue Doodles is the latest program in a long line of initiatives from the Pedigree brand promoting adoption,” said Jean-Paul Jansen, vice-president of marketing for Mars Petcare North America.
”It takes a simple, everyday activity for children – doodling – and turns it into a fun way to add a new member to the family.”
The initiative, which is available until April 30, is only available in the US. Dana Puglisi, chief marketing officer at Adopt-a-Pet.com, added: ”Rescue Doodles program is a unique way to bring that to life that gets the whole family involved.”
Rescue Doodles joins Pedigree’s lineup of tech-led pet adoption initiatives, which includes apps that help check in homeless dogs and tech that can reunite missing dogs by tracking their noses.
