Nando’s is poking fun at the anti-vax movement in a campaign to promote its new app.

The ’Don’t be an Anti-Apper’ marketing push lands today (March 1) and mimics social posts by anti-vaxxers. The campaign is a blend of social media posts, parody videos and in-store ads.

Copy ranges from: “I ordered Nando’s directly from my phone once, but I realized no one has studied the side effects,” to “I don’t want the Nando’s app on my phone and sure as hell don’t want my phone implanted with 5G!”

The ads conclude with: “Don’t be an Anti-Apper. Download the Nando’s app. It’s good for you.”

The Peri-peri restaurant recently released its rewards app, which gifts customers points on purchase, savings on delivery and the ability to skip the queue.

The work joins a line-up of Nando’s political ad campaigns that includes the 2017 ’Everyone is Welcome’ ads in response to Donald Trump’s inauguration, as well as a campaign that trolled Robert Mugabe.
