Account moves

Lucky Generals has been appointed as the lead creative agency for Virgin Atlantic following a competitive three-way pitch. The agency beat out Mother and Uncommon Creative Studios to become responsible for the multi-brand platform, which includes Virgin Atlantic Cargo and Virgin Atlantic Holidays.

Taproot Dentsu has been awarded the creative mandate for the forthcoming campaign of the leading tech giant Lenovo. The agency won the mandate following a multi-agency pitch and will now service the account from its Mumbai office. The campaign will focus on Lenovo’s smart and innovative offerings. It aims to carry the Lenovo story forward in the Indian market.

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) has appointed global independent creative and production agency Five by Five as its new creative agency, handling larger creative specialist projects, as well as some additional design briefs.

London-based marketing agency Kaizen has been appointed by Moonpig to help drive SEO and online presence through digital PR and influencer marketing. Popular online greeting card company Moonpig will work with Kaizen to develop a digital PR strategy to increase their online presence and SEO visibility after the brand’s recent refresh.

Following a competitive pitch, GHD, the luxury hair styling brand, has appointed Threepipe Reply as its chosen UK brand performance agency. Threepipe will now support GHD across all performance and branding channels including social, search and display media. Threepipe’s creative team will also be supporting the team to deliver stand-out creative assets across the channels.

PizzaExpress has signed with advertising, media and music specialist Truant London as its agency of record, following a competitive pitch. The partnership sees Truant set a fresh direction for PizzaExpress by developing a fun and youthful new tone that celebrates the vibrancy of all things pizza across the brand’s extensive pizzeria estate, alongside a multimedia campaign spanning owned, social, OOH, connected TV, digital and online.

Mergers and acquisitions

IMG has acquired the Dubai-based 20too Licensing agency to further expand the global footprint of its industry-leading licensing business. Established in 2013, 20too Licensing manages consumer product development and brand extensions in the Middle East and North Africa for many of the world’s most popular entertainment and lifestyle brands, including NBCUniversal, Hasbro, The Smurfs, Sega, Smiley, and the Discovery portfolio of brands such as Fatafeat, Food Network, Animal Planet and Discovery Channel.

Partnerships

TikTok has partnered with Copa90 as the lead content partner to bring fan-first football content to its communities, as it looks to cement its position as the home of fandom for football culture. The partnership builds on the wealth of football-related content on TikTok, which aims to deliver comedic commentary and celebrate the most memorable moments of the beautiful game.

Launches

Dentsu International has announced the launch of its sports marketing unit in India. The launch is supported by Dentsu Sports International (DSI), headquartered in Tokyo, and Dentsu Sports Asia (DSAsia), Singapore. For the record, DSI and DSAsia are global agencies that harness the power of sports to impact human behavior through meaningful marketing solutions and experiences.

A new design agency Ada has launched from the brains behind multi-award-winning sound branding and experiential agency Listen, who are responsible for projects for Microsoft, Tinder, Spotify, Skype, Sephora and more.
