“Why I Put My Pants On” by StrawberryFrog for Woody Creek Distillers

The song takes the viewer through all the people who have made an impact for good

StrawberryFrog New York has created a three and a half minute music video for Woody Creek Distillers, featuring Willie Creeks played by William H Macy.

Creeks’ new single, “Why I Put My Pants On,” is a song that celebrates bartenders and all of those who’ve made a difference during the ongoing pandemic.

Written by Creeks, the song takes the viewer through all the people who have made an impact for good. The song is also performed by Creeks, who sings the talking blues style lyrics.

The video can be watched here.

As he delivers the tale, Willie Creeks passes his local bar in Woody Creek, CO, which is closed, though he sees his favorite bartender Gus inside keeping the bar and his spirits going. The song delivery by Creeks is entertaining and the role of the brand – whilst central – is carefully nuanced. The film was shot all on an iPhone by Willie with the help of some local friends in the same town as the Woody Creek Distillery, Woody Creek, CO.

Mark Kleckner, chief operating officer, said: “We are thrilled to bring Willie Creeks on as a business partner. Willie is not only a neighbor here in Woody Creek, CO, but he is an iconic character that exemplifies the unique ethos of our mountain community and our spirits.”

"Willie plays a huge role in this film,” said Tyler DeAngelo, ECD/partner, StrawberryFrog, who collaborated with Creeks. “And of course he was brilliant in his performance.”

"Willie Creeks is optimistic and enigmatic. His singing is penetrating. This film is definitely worth checking out,” said Scott Goodson, CEO/founder of StrawberryFrog. "This new film is equal to the epic commercial we did featuring Willem Dafoe for Jim Beam, though this one is for the genuine challenger brand in the spirits category that could use a little shake-up. But more than anything, it's a reminder of the power of stortelling."

DeAngelo said: “I was thrilled when I heard Willie was on board. He’s an American icon and one of the greatest talking blues singer-songwriters of our generation. I’ve been a Willie Creeks fan since his first album, 'Empty Flask Blues'. His latest song, 'Why I Put My Pants On' is classic Willie. Very glad he’s returned to his roots. Can’t say much about his last album, but I’m hopeful and eager to see what he has up his sleeve this year.”
