Shoppable marketing specialist Adimo has appointed Gavin Stirrat as interim chief operating officer while current chief operations officer, Gill Smith, takes time out of the business to start a family.

Adimo has also appointed David Fieldhouse as adviser to the business as it aggressively grows its international and agency business. Gavin has worked in the digital advertising space for over 20 years, bringing a wealth of experience, and is a respected voice particularly within the mobile and programmatic spaces. He will be responsible for the operations, product and customer teams at Adimo.

Prior to joining Adimo, Gavin was vice-presdent of the partner services team in Europe for OpenX, a leading independent advertising exchange, leading the teams that looked after many of OpenX’s supply and demand partners. Gavin has also held leadership roles at Advertising.com, Millennial Media and StrikeAd.

Of his appointment, Stirrat said: “From the very first conversation I had with Richie (Adimo’s chief executive officer and founder) I was impressed with their commitment to making the internet more actionable and accountable for FMCG advertisers. Adimo solves that problem, which is more relevant than ever right now with more consumers turning to the internet for an ever increasing amount of their shopping needs.”

In addition to Stirrat, Adimo have also engaged industry veteran David Fieldhouse to advise the business as it increases its work with agencies and grows internationally. Fieldhouse brings a wealth of experience from companies including Mediacom and adsquare where he led the global commercial team, and has also built and sold several companies from scratch, including Ad-X Tracking which sold to Criteo in 2013.

Fieldhouse said: “I’m delighted to be a part of helping grow the Adimo proposition amongst agencies both in the UK and abroad. Its technology and clear proposition delivers measurable benefits for advertisers and agencies and will be scaling rapidly this year”.

Adimo CEO, Richie Kelly, commented: “It’s a testament to the success of the Adimo team that we’re able to attract talent like Gavin and David to help us scale the business when brands need us more than ever. Gavin and David’s track record of growing and scaling businesses alongside their understanding of the digital ecosystem is what attracted us to them, and their experience will be critical as we enter this next stage of growth at Adimo.”

Both these latest appointments come during a period of rapid international growth for Adimo, whose technology is now used in over 40 markets across six continents. In the first half of 2020 alone the company’s retailer integrations have tripled, reaching over 5 billion shoppers worldwide, with global FMCG brands including Coca-Cola, Danone and The Edrington Group recently joining the likes of Nestle, Bacardi and Arla on Adimo’s extensive client list.
