Twitch APAC push to be lead by former Spotify exec Sunita Kaur
Twitch is expanding its sphere of operations to the Asia-Pacific with the appointment of Sunita Kaur as its first managing director for the region.

The video live-streaming service will base Kaur in Singapore with a remit to grow the local Twitch community and improve the service for all benefit content creators, media partners, agencies, advertisers, publishers, and developers.

Sunita’s 20 years of experience in digital advertising and online services and communities that serve content creators in APAC make her the perfect leader for Twitch’s business in the region.”
Kaur added: “Twitch is proof that entertainment and media consumption habits around the world, including in APAC, have foundationally changed. Young consumers in APAC are cutting the cord and are influenced by social media where the audience expects to play a part in entertainment they watch. This means the unique Twitch entertainment experience, one that fosters collaboration and community between content creator and audience, can support this consumer-led revolution of how content is delivered.”
Kaur arrives at Twitch from Spotify where she accrued a wealth of experience in the region over six years as managing director of Southeast Asia and subsequently VP Revenue in APAC. Over this time Kaur is credited with expanding Spotify throughout Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan, and the Philippines.
At the tail end of last year Twitch named veteran gaming marketer Doug Scott as CMO.
