Goodstuff appoints Genevieve Tompkins as managing partner

Independent media agency Goodstuff has bolstered its board with the appointment of Genevieve Tompkins as managing partner.

Late in 2018, Tompkins was to help start a ‘new era’ at MC&C (now The Kite Factory) after agency founder Mike Colling stepped down. However, after a few months as chief strategy officer, she has moved on to Goodstuff with immediate effect.

Tompkins has racked up more than 15 years of experience at independent agencies and will handle the performance team clients, billings worth around £45m in 2019. On the partner board, she will sit alongside managing partners Laura Moorcraft, Sam Drake and Simon Wilden, Bobby Din (investment partner), Megan Stuart (finance partner), Nick Suckley (digital partner), Paul Gayfer (planning partner) and Simeon Adams (creative partner).

Tompkins will report into co-founders Stephens and Hayes. Ben Hayes, the co-founder of Goodstuff, said: “We’re really excited about Gen joining our senior team, she brings with her a wealth of experience, bags of passion and entrepreneurial zeal that will further enhance the management and development of Goodstuff.”

Tompkins added: “I am delighted to be joining such a great team which is so widely admired for creating innovative solutions for clients. To me, Goodstuff represents all that is great about independent agencies, a sector which I am hugely passionate about.

“I believe my hunger for driving the most effective client outcomes will complement the agency's creative approach and I look forward to working closely with the team to further develop the agency's performance proposition.”

As part of the move, Simon Wilden, managing partner performance, who currently runs the group, will maintain responsibility for some clients, in addition to helping develop agency-wide skills in channel planning and effectiveness measurement.
