Computing firm HP is leveraging a digital show to bring attention to its activity in eSports and its Omen product line, which it hopes will be embraced by gamers in the space.

The Omen eSports Report is a monthly magazine-format show that will showcase the best gamers and their machines. It was created in partnership with content agency Drum, media agency PHD UK and Fuse, which oversaw the sponsorship strategy.

It will aim to cover the world’s biggest eSports competitions, including exclusive coverage of HP’s own efforts in the scene. The 30-minute show will stream live on Twitch from Friday 29 June, following up each month with help from media partner Gamer Network. It claims these drives will help make it an authentic voice in the eSports space.

Yvonne Hobden, consumer marketing lead at HP UK, said: “With our continued focus on supporting and growing the eSports world, we took one step further in our plan and created The Omen eSports Report, that brings together all of the latest news from the eSports world in one place in this monthly show, supported by ongoing daily news on our social channels.

“Our aim was to make it entertaining and informative by bringing experts together to show the UK gaming community what’s going on in an easily digestible format. It really is your one stop show for all the big eSports news.”

Lucy Holmes, Managing Partner, PHD UK said: “The Omen Esports Report doesn’t just do something new and different in the world of eSports, it is also a great example of three specialist agencies bringing together their expertise to deliver a campaign that will reach the hearts and minds of our gaming audience.”

Through Omen, HP sponsors many eSports events, building a substantial presence in the scene. Its successful involvement in the sector has reportedly surprised its own execs.
