Scotland’s cultural and sporting royalty have united to share their love for the country in the largest ever campaign to be undertaken by the National Trust for Scotland.

The high-profile line-up includes Brian Cox, Gerard Butler, Sir Chris Hoy, Judy Murray, Alex McLeish, Stuart Hogg, Finn Russell, Andrea McLean and Evelyn Glennie who have been charged with boosting membership at the charity by over a third to 500,000.

In the process it is hoped to double paid visits to one million and increase both regular donors and member visits over the next five years.

For The Love of Scotland begins by asking the celebrities what they hate about their homeland before spilling the beans on what they love, weighing in at three minutes it is believed to be the longest Scottish TV advert ever made.

Mark Bishop, director of customer and cause at the National Trust for Scotland said: “We’ve set ourselves an ambitious target to do two things – firstly to help people better understand what we do and why we do it and secondly to protect the Trust for the future by increasing our members, donations and visitors.

“In creating this campaign, we’ve been heartened by the extraordinary passion we’ve tapped; from multi-award winning actors and sporting royalty to our hard working staff and volunteers and everyone else who champions our work. We have harnessed that support to help us shout louder about the important role we play in caring for Scotland now and forever.”

Created by Frame the ambitious advert takes centerstage in an integrated campaign which includes a website created with the support of Whitespace.
